Blog

Our Heavy Capacity Intensive Plus Chairs are Now Available with in an Optional Static-Control Configuration

Take a seat in the chair as tough as anything most workdays can dish out. Our Intensive Plus Series models sport a 500-pound user capacity, and are designed and constructed to meet demand for long-term comfort and performance in continuous-use, 24-hour operations.

Featuring a fully contoured profile, the Intensive Plus chair has a roomy saddle-shaped seat with a waterfall front to ensure even weight distribution, and comes standard with an executive-style seat pan control so users can quickly and easily adjust the seat position. Other highlights include:

  • A contoured backrest with lumbar support to keep users comfortable during the longest shifts
  • A rugged 5-point aluminum base with glides or dual-wheel casters, load rated at 165 pounds each
  • Compliance with U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) requirements for 24-hour intensive use in severe environments

Optional ISO 7 and 8 cleanroom configurations, and all-new static control package

While Intensive Plus seating is engineered and tested to be multishift factory-tough, it’s also a popular choice for dispatch centers, fire stations, security and national defense applications, and virtually any round-the-clock operation.

And, we just introduced a static-control variation for manufacturers specializing in electronics, semiconductors, munitions, avionics and more.

Why ESD Safety Matters

Electrostatic discharge (ESD) poses a significant threat to sensitive electronic components, including semiconductors, circuit boards, and weapons systems. Even a small static spark—often imperceptible to the human body—can irreparably damage or degrade the performance of high-precision equipment, or in some circumstances, be catastrophic. The ESD variation of the Intensive Plus chair incorporates a comprehensive grounding path throughout the chair’s components—from casters to upholstery to armrests—ensuring any static charge generated by user movement is safely dissipated. This design helps maintain the integrity of static-sensitive workspaces while promoting user comfort and safety for all users, making it a critical asset in ESD-controlled environments.
