Clean Room Case Study

January 07, 2019 | Case Studies

Our Customer

A major international eyewear designer, manufacturer and distributor maintains (USA) quality control system laboratories in its Georgia operation. An interior lab is a clean room where lenses are made; assembly of the eyewear occurs in exterior labs. The lab technicians sit for over six hours a day, leaving their chairs for only short breaks. The customer stresses the use of technology solutions that improve workplace health, safety and ergonomics.

The Challenge

Specifically, the firm needed a highly ergonomic, clean room chair that would help the technicians maintain an ideal posture and reduce the potential for musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). MSDs are more likely to occur when chairs with limited ergonomic benefits are used. Nationally, the direct costs attributable to MSDs are estimated to be $15 to $20 billion per year, with total annual costs reaching $45 to $54 billion.

The Advantages

1 — The BioFit MVMT ergonomic chair has 13 points of adjustment to assist the user in gaining a protective posture for long periods of time.

2 — MVMT seating is engineered for task-specific range of motion and 24/7/365 day use.

3 — The chosen MVMT chair meets ISO class 3 through 8 clean room requirements.

The BioFit MVMT ergonomic seating is helping the customer save money by reducing MSD problems and increasing productivity. BioFit installed 240 MVMT chairs to meet the customer’s requirements.
