BioFit Engineered Products, a globally recognized manufacturer of award-winning ergonomic seating and table solutions, opened 2016 with the launch of a literature fulfillment microsite – biofit.info. The new site enables customers, field sales representatives and visitors to the company’s corporate website to order print literature or download digital copies – all at no cost.

The commercial furniture industry relies heavily on print collateral to convey product information to dealers, distributors, customers and prospects. In turn, architects, designers, facility managers and end users depend on catalogs and brochures to make informed purchasing decisions. BioFit found that managing the in-house resources and cost inefficiencies associated with pulling, packing and tracking literature orders was becoming overwhelming. Additionally, the company was aware it potentially was not serving its customers as well as it could, as an automated means to correlate requester and order information for future follow-up did not exist. According to BioFit Marketing Director and Regional Sales Manager Ron Buettner, “We needed to get out of the business of FedExing brochures and assembling binders every day and focus solely on serving customers and filling orders of our specialty seating products.”

BioFit collaborated with its literature print partner on an end-to-end, custom fulfillment solution. Site parameters included: Company branding and seamless integration with the BioFit corporate website and internal technology infrastructure; print-on-demand capability to eliminate large-scale literature inventory and facilitate rapid and waste-free updates based on product rollouts, model changes, etc.; dissemination of order intake, receipt, processing, fulfillment and tracking notification to applicable recipients at BioFit and the print provider, field sales representatives, and end users; the ability of users to not only order print literature, but to download digital versions; and, inventory tracking and low quantity alerts. In addition to direct access via the biofit.info URL, the site is also assessable from BioFit’s corporate website, biofit.com, by clicking on the Literature navigation button.

The fulfillment site quickly paid dividends, as orders manually processed through BioFit’s customer service department were reduced by over 50 percent within a week of launch. As long-term customers and sales representatives begin full utilization of the site, the company expects the literature fulfillment process will be fully automated. “The fulfillment site eliminated a costly and time-consuming task from our team, allowing us to concentrate on what we do best.” Mr. Buettner shared.

BioFit Engineered Products, a globally recognized manufacturer of award-winning ergonomic seating solutions, recently introduced two new sales leaders and a new manufacturer’s representative for one of its fastest growing U.S. markets. The appointments include Monet Stansbury as Eastern Regional Sales Manager, Brett Ritchie as Southern California Territory Sales Manager and Kevin Konstanzer as a Manufacturer’s Representative for Texas. Stansbury will lead the company’s overall sales initiatives in the eastern U.S. and Canada, while Ritchie will oversee sales efforts and the establishment of relationships with contract office furniture dealers, design and architectural firms and specifiers in his territory. Konstanzer, a Manufacturer’s Representative for Dallas-based All Tech Associates, will promote BioFit products to current and prospective customers across a broad range of markets.

With a 25-year background in contract furnishings, Monet Stansbury provides BioFit with proven sales and leadership skills honed with recognized market stalwarts including Kimball and Herman Miller, where she was a dealership Vice President of Sales. She has also served directly and independently as a representative for large and small manufacturers. Commenting on her new position, she stated, “I’m excited and prepared to lead our Eastern Region sales team and distributors. While some think the seating market is saturated, I see opportunity for growth as BioFit is highly recognized and fills a unique niche.”

Brett Ritchie brings over 30 years’ of contract furnishing industry experience in the Southern California and Nevada markets. His background includes working for prominent Herman Miller and Haworth dealers in leadership roles in sales, project management and operations. He is also well versed in training and furniture design. In 2002, he founded RC Associates – subsequently rebranded as RC Partners – where he and his partner independently represented leading contract and hospitality furnishing manufacturers. On joining BioFit, Ritchie noted: “I expect to help the company gain significant recognition in the Los Angeles marketplace. It’s vital to create a reliable atmosphere with prospective dealers, and I hope to develop that.”

A recent addition to All Tech Associates, Kevin Konstanzer will also provide BioFit with 30 years’ of industry expertise, honed primarily in the education market with School Specialty. When asked about challenges and opportunities facing the commercial and specialty furnishing segments today, Konstanzer shared: “With much of the economic climate in our region dependent on oil, funding has been reduced due to the decline in petroleum prices. However, there is still a lot of construction taking place and a tremendous influx of business. Coupled with the excitement surrounding BioFit’s new MVMT chair, there’s plenty of opportunity in the Texas market.” BioFit enjoys a robust alliance with All Tech Associates, which has served as a manufacturer’s representative for the company for many years.

When asked about the new additions to the company, BioFit President Ed Metzger noted: “Monet has an incredible level of expertise and energy that we anticipate will take sales in her region to the next level and beyond.” He continued: “We’ve long discussed the benefit of having a dedicated voice to those in the contract furnishing segment to tell the BioFit story and how we can complement their offering. Combined with his experience, Brett brings a unique perspective that will allow us to better penetrate this market in Southern California.” He added: “All Tech Associates has traditionally been one of our top performing representative organizations. With a polished skill set and ringing endorsement from [All Tech founder] David Aspinall, we expect that Kevin will be a vital asset in further expanding our presence in Texas.”

BioFit Engineered Products, a globally recognized designer and manufacturer of ergonomic seating solutions, revealed major updates to its Foundation seating line this week. Changes affect nearly every model in the line and include four new base designs and two new caster styles for both conventional and specialized workplaces. The updates were implemented to provide a fresh look and enhanced safety features.

The BioFit Foundation line seating consists of chairs and stools for markets including healthcare, laboratory, education, office, industrial and technology. Models range from multipurpose task chairs and executive units to models for harsh environments to specialized facilities such as clean rooms. The new Foundation line bases come in four styles: cast aluminum, reinforced composite, polished wide aluminum, and tubular steel. They feature a high-profile look, offering a more contemporary, European-aesthetic compared to the components they replace. Additionally, the bases have a wider leg spread which results in greater stability, and subsequently, increased safety.

The new aluminum, wide aluminum and reinforced composite bases feature a proprietary T-shape construction, providing added strength and facilitating easier cleaning compared to their predecessors. The new tubular steel bases include an additional 1” in footring diameter, for a total of 21”. On models with larger seats, this is important in maintaining circulation to the lower legs of users.

Two new styles of casters include a hooded, dual-wheel resistance caster and a similar model designed for specialized use in electrostatic dissipative (ESD) applications. Both casters are designed to increase workplace safety, as chairs on which they are installed will not roll unless they are occupied.  Both styles are non-marring and are designed to complement the look of the new Foundation line bases. The high-profile bases and resistance casters are offered as standard equipment and are not subject to an upcharge.

Commenting on the base and caster upgrades, BioFit President Ed Metzger remarked: “We’re pleased to offer these innovations in an effort to not only improve the workplace experience, but to provide specifiers and interior designers with more impactful looking products.”

BioFit Engineered Products, a globally recognized manufacturer of ergonomic seating solutions, launched an online configurator this week for its recently released, award-winning MVMT line. The new “mychair” application bolsters the company’s current Build You Own Chair (BYOC) configurator and will enable BioFit website visitors to design MVMT models to meet their requirements.

BioFit was at the forefront of digital innovation within the seating industry ten years ago with the introduction of the BYOC – the field’s first online configurator – which features models from the BioFit Foundation seating line. With the mychair, the company now offers a more comprehensive builder with enhanced visualization capabilities and access to an assortment of support elements for its latest line – the MVMT.

Like the original BYOC, mychair allows visitors to select MVMT chair components based on workspace and performance needs and see how the resulting configurations would look in their specific environments. Once a MVMT model is configured, the visitor can request a quote online. Moreover, mychair offers a robust set of configuration-specific information and support tools such as instructional videos. On the launch, BioFit President Ed Metzger remarked: “Continual innovation has been one of our primary objectives over the past several years, and the MVMT mychair configurator brings BioFit full circle. A decade ago, we developed an online breakthrough with the BYOC that quickly became a trendsetter throughout the industry. Now, we’re offering customers an even more robust way to configure models from our new MVMT seating line – the chair contract furnishing leaders deemed most innovative at its own launch during NeoCon 2014.”

The BYOC permits users to configure hundreds of ergonomic chair configurations available through the BioFit Ship Now! quick-ship program, with users provided choices such as seats, backrests, arms, casters, metal finishes, upholsteries and more.  Resulting options include specialty models for clean room and static control applications, as well as designs for industrial, laboratory, educational, healthcare and office settings.

CHICAGO (June 15, 2015) – BioFit Engineered Products, a globally recognized manufacturer of ergonomic seating solutions, introduced models from its two newest lines today at the opening of NeoCon 2015 in Chicago. Headlining the company’s exhibit are Pro series designs from the MVMT™ seating line, and the fifth and lead model of the bimos by BioFit™ Collection – the Neon. Other highlights of the exhibit include the Fin sit-stand – another model from the bimos collaboration, product demonstrations and presentations by BioFit President Ed Metzger on key differentiators of specialized workplace seating.

Unveiled at last year’s show, industry-newcomer MVMT seating garnered the Best of NeoCon 2014 Innovation Award. The line is comprised of two series – Pro and Tech, with BioFit showcasing configurations from the MVMT Pro series at this year’s event. MVMT seating was developed in collaboration with Studio Fifield of Milan, Italy, and created for use in the technology, laboratory, healthcare and industrial sectors, including critical environments such as clean rooms. The line combines technical precision and durability with a design aesthetic not normally associated with traditional laboratory and technical workspaces. The design features intuitive functionality that enhances user range of motion and what may be the first weight-activated control in a predominantly non-office chair. BioFit President Ed Metzger noted: “Critical performance seating is such a removal from the contract seating most people envision when you say ‘work chair.’ MVMT is engineered to address user range of motion intrinsic to tasks in the lab and tech sectors. It’s the culmination of in-depth observation, interviews and interaction with prototypes by top researchers, technicians, clinicians and other long-time users in these fields.”  In addition to winning the Best of NeoCon 2014 Innovation award, MVMT seating has subsequently been honored with other industry recognition over the past year.

The bimos by BioFit Collection melds original design from European seating leader bimos with the proven ergonomic tradition of BioFit. This morning, BioFit introduced the Neon – the fifth and flagship model of the line. Featuring a replaceable upholstery system, the Neon was developed for use in technology, laboratory, educational, healthcare, industrial, and office settings. Another model from the Collection is also on exhibit: the swiveling Fin sit-stand for tasks requiring prolonged periods of standing. The Fin allows users to redistribute their weight, taking up to 60% of the stress off of their legs and feet.
